I know it’s been pretty quiet over here on the blog lately, and for that I apologize. Here’s what’s up:

We’ve been cramming to make a lot of progress on Headline. We’ve been putting in tons of hours on the project because we really want to get this app into your hands! In the process of that, we’ve been totally working, and reworking the UI of the “List Mode” which is what our next UI preview is going to be about. It’s pretty hard to show off something that we’re constantly changing and improving on.

With that in mind, we’ve got a lot to show you, and we’re very excited about that. You can expect a detailed post this week with a full screenshot of the UI in List Mode.

Now, to address some concerns about the beta, and final release date. Developing an app is a very tricky thing, and it’s even more difficult to predict when the app will be ready for beta or release. Now that we have a lot more progress made it’s a little more clear about what is left and how long that might take. Our new estimate is for a public beta in the next 1-2 months, and final release in Spring 2008.

More than anything, we want to make sure Headline is the app you’ve been dreaming of. It just wouldn’t be the same if we delivered a buggy, half implemented product, as tempting as that may be.
