A new Mac application runs to the Dock.

Roger, we are at work on a new Mac application. Right, this application provide many cool features and basically is designed for a new, completely different, application area from Headline. We don't want to share so much details now, but this is a little teaser for you, the Application icon.

A new website for 2009

I guess it's time for my first post on the new Doseido blog. Being extremely excited about working for this delicious company I should probably start explaining how it all began. After getting to know Andrea Gelati (founder and lead developer of Doseido) we had a few conversations on AIM in which he showed me the then unreleased version of the 2009 website. Wolfgang Bartelme, an extremely talented UI designer and longtime Doseido consultant had worked on the interface and had already mocked up the design. Andrea had also began to code part of the website when he offered me the job of what he likes to call a "Web Ninja".

Andrea and I decided that it would be a good idea for me to rewrite the whole website from scratch in order to feel comfortable with the code. In addition to the rewrite I added a few details to the original design. Once the layout and markup was ready we had to choose a flexible content management system. We had narrowed it down to a few options but finally went for Expression Engine. If you don't know what I'm talking about be sure to grab a copy over at Ellislab and give it a try. The only additional piece of software we are using for the Doseido website right now is the fantastic analytics tool by Shaun Inmann called Mint.

My work on the Doseido web has just begun and my to-do list is obtaining critical mass. We already have a roadmap planned out for the next few months including a pixel perfect attention to detail, our own support system, the integration of a new shop as well as some top secret government stuff. We are also debating on whether to optimize the site for Internet Explorer. Being a delicious software factory we are somewhat adverse to the thought but feel it's a requirement for a modern website.

Technology Meets Parenting

New to Doseido is blogger Stacie Haight Connerty. Stacie comes with years of experience in writing and marketing. She is an Atlanta, Georgia resident, a work-at-home mother of three children and still enamored with the love of her life, husband of almost ten years, Jason. When she is not playing soccer mom, Stacie volunteers in the community and is currently serving as a contributing writer to The Junior League of Atlanta magazine, Peachtree Papers.

Stacie's family is enamored with technology and they can often be seen standing in line waiting for the latest and greatest gadgets as they are released to the public. Her very first computer was a Mac and she knew her husband was "the one" after learning he had the exact same computer. Six Mac's and three kids later, Stacie is on a first name basis with the employees at a local Mac store and was happy to bring her son into the mix when he received a brand new iMac for his 5th birthday. The only family fights are over who gets to play with the MacBook Air and what movie to watch on the iPod.

Stacie is excited to be a part of Doseido where she gets to play with all of the coolest technology!
